CRS, Mercy Corps, World Vision, and Land O’Lakes worked with Cornell University to create the Local and Regional Food Aid Procurement (LRP) Learning Alliance to develop a global monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework for U.S. Department of Agriculture LRP Projects implemented by the agencies in the Alliance. In November 2011, the Alliance hosted a 1-day workshop in Arlington, Virginia, to educate 95 food security program implementers, including government agencies, academic institutions, and nongovernmental organizations, on LRP. The Alliance also used the event to share their experiences with LRP Projects, as well as the effectiveness and challenges of such programs in addressing food insecurity.
